January 2003 breaks a number of digital attack records

London, UK - 22 January 2003, 12:30 GMT - The monthly world record for successful overt digital attacks was breached at 07:05 GMT this morning when the total number recorded for January 2003 reached 16,168. The message left behind by the anti-capitalist hacker group responsible for that qualifying attack on a Japanese Linux based server was poignant as it blamed the international media for exacerbating divisions throughout the world. On present trends, January is forecast to cross the 20,000 ceiling.
